When Quinta da Alegria was purchased in 2007, the garden and the house had fallen into disrepair. At the same time as restoring the house we began redesigning and replanting the 4 ha (10 acre) garden.

Quinta da Alegria was built at the end of the 17th century. It is situated at the edge of the historic town of Sintra. Quinta da Alegria is part of the Sintra World Heritage Site which was declared in 1995.
